Tap, Bucket, and Boil!

Learn about making ample treats from tree to table.  Head to a maple farm,

tap a tree, boil sap, and make your own unique maple sprinkle to take home!

The Essentials:

  • From Tree to Table: The maple-making pros at Taylor Brothers Farm are going to teach you how maple goes from tree trunk to you tummy. Visit a working maple and dairy farm and start with a romp in the trees - you’ll learn to identify a maple tree and how to tap one.
  • Boil and Steam: Once you’ve learned how to collect the sap, you’ll learn how it becomes syrup. You’ll leave the woods and warm up by a steaming, boiling pot of maple. Taste the freshly boiled maple and learn what it’s like at various stages of the boiling process.
  • Create Your Own Maple Sprinkle to Take Home! Maple isn’t just for syrup – you’ll get to learn about all of the other things maple can be made into, including granulated maple sugar. Then you’ll make your own special mix of maple sugar and seasonings and bring home your own specially crafted maple seasoning.
